Live-in Home Care - Brighton South East
Live-In Care provides older adults with 24/7, around-the-clock care. Clients and their families enjoy peace of mind with reliable, live-in caregivers that monitor safety, attend to any immediate or daily needs and provide companionship.
What is Live-in Care?
Nine out of ten seniors report that they wish to age in place, at home. However, frailty, chronic illness or forgetfulness can make living alone too difficult. In these cases, live-in care allows your loved one to remain in the comfort of his or her home and maintain as much independence as possible, while ensuring the highest level of safety.
With 24/7, around-the-clock care, a caregiver is always watching over your loved one, offering emotional support, reducing fall risk and assisting in all activities of daily living including:
- Cooking and light housekeeping
- Grocery shopping and errands
- Transportation to doctor appointments, supermarket, pharmacy
- Bathing, dressing and grooming assistance
- Medication reminders
- Laundry and change of bed linens
- Companionship and range of motion exercise
- Assisting with walking and transfer from bed to wheelchair
- Status reporting to family
Why Choose Live-In Care?
If you’re looking for a comprehensive, cost effective alternative to any type of facility, live-in care is the choice for you. The emotional strain associated with moving away from the familiarity and comfort of home often leads to physical decline, further loss of independence and diminished quality of life. Around-the-clock care allows your loved one to remain in his or her home, while ensuring safety and promoting optimal well-being. In addition, caregivers offer a much more personalized plan of care with one-to-one support tailored to the status, conditions, preferences, hobbies and lifestyle of the individual.
Why Choose Home Care Assistance?
Experts in Live-in Care
Home Care Assistance specializes in 24/7 live-in care. Our founders even researched, studied and authored an award-winning book series on various topics related to healthy longevity. Their Handbook for Live-In Care is a valued resource on live-in care and is used by families and members of the senior care industry.
Continuity of Care
A Home Care Assistance live-in caregiver will stay with your loved one 24 hours a day so that he or she is never alone. We typically assign a primary caregiver who provides care for four to five days a week and then a secondary caregiver who covers the remainder of the week.
Care Away from Home
Our caregivers can also provide companionship and monitoring for safety during hospital stays. We can even accompany older adults on vacations, enabling them to travel in safety and freedom.
Home Care Assistance live-in caregivers must maintain a separate residence and are permitted on the client’s premises only during their assigned shifts. They are strictly forbidden from using the client’s property, such as phone, television or car for their personal use. They may not entertain visitors nor invite family to the home while they are working.
Family Peace of Mind
A dedicated Care Manager and Care Coordinator who personally know your case and the intricacies involved are available around the clock and constantly in touch for continued care. Our caregivers keep care binders with notes in every client’s home so any updates or progress notes are recorded and accessible for you, your other family members and doctors. We also offer complimentary quality assurance visits, updating you as often as you wish so you can rest assured that your loved one is in the best hands.
Home Care Assistance performs rigorous screening to find the most reliable and compassionate caregivers available. Before we even consider a caregiver for employment, they must prove prior in-home, senior care experience. In addition, to ensure the safety of your loved one, we run background checks through the Department of Justice on all our potential employees, including local and national criminal records, DMV checks and eligibility of employment verification. We even administer a psychological examination, developed by our founding Ph.D. psychologists, to test each caregiver for honesty and conscientiousness. All of our caregivers are bonded and insured and are employees of Home Care Assistance, not independent contractors.
