Braeside Park is located near to shops and medical services at Berwick.
The retirement village with 34 independent living units and 14 assisted/ serviced apartments is managed by the Old Colonists' Association of Victoria, which has 150 years history of housing and supporting older Victorians in need.
Each independent living unit has an ensuite bathroom, living room, kitchen and a laundry located in the kitchen. The units are set in attractive gardens, and each unit has its own small personal garden area and a clothes line. There is a gas heater in the lounge room. Some units have a ceiling fan, air conditioner, bathroom heater or other non-standard ttings which have been installed by a previous occupant.
There is a community room for the independent living units and a community dining/living room in the Apartment complex where resident activities and social functions take place.
There are 14 serviced apartments at Braeside Park - each of which has a large bed-sitting room with a bay window, a small kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. All meals and domestic assistance are provided, however the apartments are only staffed during the day. After hours’ attention is available via a personal alarm system linked to a family member. There is a community dining/living room in the Apartment complex where resident activities and social functions take place.

Recreational and social activities organised by the Residents’ Activities Committee (at resident’s expense).
HOW TO ENTER
Before being accepted onto our waiting list for accommodation, interested applicants are invited for
an initial interview and have to pay a $50 administrative fee. Once on the waiting list, waiting time for entry into Braeside Park can be up to three years. To keep your name on our list, we ask you to contact us every six months.
Residents with assets greater than $50,000 are required to pay a non-refundable entry donation depending on each individual’s total assets.
Independent living: There is a daily maintenance charge for a single person of:
$21.90 per day ($306.60 per fortnight)
For couples, the charge is:
One bedroom: $27.16 per day ($380.24 per fortnight) Two bedrooms: $27.91 per day ($390.74 per fortnight)
This covers maintenance, water charges and Council rates. Gas and electricity charges are the resident’s responsibility.
Maintenance fees at retirement villages are claimable under the Commonwealth Government’s Rental Assistance program, in accordance with the Commonwealth’s eligibility guidelines.
