Gawler Community Retirement Homes (previously known as Gawler & District Aged Cottage Homes) is a not for profit organisation supporting the Gawler community.

Run by a locally based Board, we were first established in 1969, with our first 11 units built in 1970. Since then we have grown to a total of six villages and a total of 145 residences. They vary from one bedroom up to three bedrooms.

Five of the villages are situated close to the Gawler main precinct; while James Martin Village is located in Willaston on the edge of town in a country like setting.

We have two types of Licence Agreement; Contribution Method or Resident Funded.

All residences are covered by a Maintenance Fee, which varies depending on the village and site of the residence. The fee covers the following:

  • All administration expeneses.
  • All maintenance expenses.
  • Council Rates.
  • All Water rates.
  • Emergency Services Levy.
  • Building Insurance, which includes Public Liabilty Insurance.
  • Maintenance of village grounds & gardens.
  • 24/7 Emergency Maintenance Service.
