Caring for someone fulltime can be physically and emotionally tiring and stressful. Families and carers can easily become isolated from social contacts, particularly if they are unable to leave the person they are caring for.
Research shows the use of day respite centres to be very effective in improving the longevity and wellbeing of carers and also providing positive experiences for those people being care for.
Regular breaks mean that you can have a rest, go out, attend to business or simply recharge your batteries.
Wesley Mission Queensland offers in-home and day respite options catering specifically for people living with dementia, seniors, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and carers.
Day respite allows those being cared for to enjoy new experiences, meet new people and to get used to other people providing support and care for them. In-home respite services assist carers around the home and allow clients to maintain their independence and stay in their home as long as possible.
Our services promote healthy and social lifestyles and aim to enhance the quality of life for all our clients.
