Quick facts

About Esk Mountain View Lodge

The Esk Mountain View Lodge business name has been registered since 2022, and its lodges are newly renovated. It runs one retirement village in Queensland, made up of five lodges. Each lodge is a fully detached, single-level home, and the whole community is independent living. For a downsizer, that means a household of your own rather than a unit in a larger building, and a community small enough that you can form a clear picture of it before you commit to anything.

Residents own their home. Gardens are private and easy to maintain, so your weekends go to family, friends and the things you enjoy. Owning a home outright is a different arrangement from leasing or holding a licence to occupy, so it is worth reading the title and contract documents closely and asking a solicitor to explain them before you sign.

WAG NO 2 PTY LTD is the operator behind Esk Mountain View Lodge. The company has been active since 2020 and has held the Esk Mountain View Lodge name since 2022. If you want to know more about the company behind the community, you can ask about it directly when you call, which is a sensible step for any buyer who wants to understand who they are dealing with.

Costs & fees

For a current price, call Esk Mountain View Lodge directly on 0419 687 603 or enquire through the listing for the community you're interested in. When you ask, it helps to request the full price of the home and to ask what other charges, if any, apply once you have moved in, so that you can compare the answer with what you spend where you live now. Put the answers in writing and keep them with your other papers, because a clear list of what you will pay is the best basis for comparing this community with any other option you are considering.

Care & lifestyle services

Esk Mountain View Lodge is independent living. You live in your own self-contained lodge on a single level, with no steps to manage. For many people planning a downsize, a single-level layout is a practical consideration in its own right, since it keeps daily routines simple and the home easy to move around in.

There are no serviced apartments or on-site aged care at Esk Mountain View Lodge. Medical help is close by: the local hospital is 800 metres away, and doctors and a pharmacy are 400 metres away. Because care is not provided on site, it is worth thinking about how you would arrange support from outside providers if your needs change, and what you would want nearby when that time comes.

The community is gated, with a barbecue, an entertainment area and a courtyard for catching up with neighbours. Pets are welcome. A visit is the best way to see how these shared spaces feel in practice, and to ask whether the arrangements for pets suit you and any animal you plan to bring.

What makes Esk Mountain View Lodge different

You own your home and can sell it or pass it to your children, just like any standard house. There is no deferred management fee and no claw back, so the value of your home stays with you and your family. For people comparing retirement options, that is a meaningful difference, because many retirement contracts work differently, and it is the first point to confirm when you speak with the operator. Five newly renovated lodges keep the community small, which some people prefer to a larger village and others find too quiet, so it is worth visiting to judge which describes you. Whatever you decide, take your time, bring a family member or friend if you can, and write down your questions before the visit so that nothing is forgotten once you are standing in the lodge itself. It also helps to ask for any contract or title documents in writing, so you can read them calmly and compare them with other options.
