Quick facts

About Aveo

Aveo's communities stretch from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Tasmania, with coastal locations on the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Newcastle. More than 10,000 residents call them home. Some communities focus on independent living, while others add assisted living apartments on the same site. Knowing which kind of community you are looking at helps you judge how well it will suit you now and in the years ahead.

Residents hold a lease or licence, and Aveo looks after the grounds, community gardens and shared facilities. That leaves you more time for friends, family and travel. Amenities and activities vary by community, so it is worth asking what is offered at the specific village you are considering and how it fits the way you like to spend your days.

Aveo is a foundation member of the Retirement Living Code of Conduct, the retirement living industry's own voluntary code setting standards for how operators treat residents. It tells you how you can expect to be treated, from your first enquiry onwards. A code of this kind is a useful reference point when you compare operators, and you can ask any village how it applies in practice. The Living Company has owned Aveo since June 2025, and Brookfield owned it before that.

Costs & fees

For a current price, call Aveo directly on 13 28 36 or enquire through the listing for the community you're interested in. It is a good idea to ask exactly what a quoted price includes and to have the details put in writing, so that you can compare it fairly with other options. Taking a family member or adviser along to that conversation can also help.

Care & lifestyle services

Aveo helps you stay independent in your own home for longer. Support can be added as your needs change, from a 24/7 emergency call system and visiting health and wellbeing professionals to allied health partnerships, and Aveo is an approved home care provider, so it can deliver help itself or arrange it through government-subsidised programs or on a fee-for-service basis.

Assisted living and apartments with services, which include meals and cleaning, are at some communities, and some villages sit alongside an aged care service nearby. It is worth asking at each community you shortlist, and asking early, so you know what support could be available if your needs change.

Most communities offer a mix of shared facilities, such as swimming pools, bowling greens, gyms and movie theatres. Social activities and events bring neighbours together, and the mix varies by community. When you inspect a village, look at the shared spaces and consider which of them you would actually use week to week.

What makes Aveo different

Aveo's scale gives you choice: communities across four states, with city and coastal locations and homes ranging from units and villas to apartments, all through one operator. That range means you can compare different home types and settings side by side before you decide. Think about which matters more to you, the location or the style of home, and use that to narrow your shortlist before you arrange visits.

Nine in ten residents voted in the 2024 annual resident survey that they are happy living in their community. Aveo's foundation membership of the Retirement Living Code of Conduct shows it put its name to industry standards from the start. Residents' own views are a helpful guide, and they sit best alongside what you see and hear for yourself on a visit.
