About Riverbend
Riverbend has three villages and three resorts, established or in progress, across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Most communities are in Queensland. Each one is a lifestyle community designed for active over-50s, with architecturally designed homes. For someone downsizing, that means a home built for easy living, in a neighbourhood of people at a similar stage of life, rather than a large house that needs constant upkeep.
Residents own their home and lease the land it sits on. Riverbend looks after the shared spaces, gardens, landscaping and community facilities, so your time stays your own. Home prices are published on the Riverbend website. Because you own the home but lease the land, it is worth reading the site agreement closely and asking the team to explain how the arrangement works before you make a decision.
Metacap established Riverbend in 2020 and keeps the properties it acquires. Knowing who stands behind a community is useful when you are comparing operators, since it tells you who you are dealing with when you have questions about the village and its ongoing management.
Costs & fees
For a current price, call Riverbend directly on 1300 363 555 or enquire through the listing for the community you're interested in. Speaking to the team is the most reliable way to confirm what a particular home costs today. When you call, it helps to ask what the price covers and what, if anything, you would pay on top, so you can set one community against another on the same footing. Keep a written note of what you are told so you can compare communities later, and ask for anything important to be confirmed in writing.
Care & lifestyle services
Riverbend communities are built for independent living. You stay in your own home and run your days your way. No care or support services are included, so the focus stays on active, easy living. If you expect to need help at home in future, that is worth thinking through now, and it is a fair question to put to the community team during a visit.
Serviced apartments, assisted living and on-site care are not offered at any Riverbend community. Every community is designed around independent living, with a home that is yours and neighbours close by. For many downsizers that clarity is useful, because it makes plain what the village provides and what you would arrange for yourself.
Shared facilities may include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gymnasium, a bowling green and a yoga and pilates space. Gardens with seating give you somewhere to meet neighbours, and a function and activity centre gives the social calendar a home. Some communities add a library or a cinema. Since facilities can differ between sites, check the specific community you are considering against the things you would actually use each week.
What makes Riverbend different
Riverbend charges no entry fees and no exit fees. There are also no council fees, no deferred fees and no refurbishment or establishment fees. Fee structures are one of the main things people compare when they weigh up a move, so a list of charges that are not applied is worth noting alongside the price of the home itself. Communities offer a security gate, secure entry and security cameras, so you can lock up and travel with confidence. Six communities across three states also give you a choice of locations from one operator.
More than 1200 residences are completed or in the process of delivery. Metacap's property experience spans more than 30 years. These figures describe the scale of the operator rather than any single village, so when you shortlist a community, look at it in person and ask the team about the specific homes and facilities on offer.
