Quick facts

About Keyton

More than 15,000 residents call Keyton home. You will find established villages and brand new developments, which gives you a choice between a settled neighbourhood and something newer. Some communities focus on independent living only. Others add serviced apartments on the same site, with daily support close by. Which suits you depends on how much help you expect to want.

Residents typically buy the right to live in their home on a lease or licence. A monthly service fee covers the everyday costs of looking after the village, including staff wages, gardening and upkeep of shared amenities, which leaves you more time for friends, family and travel. Because the arrangement is a lease or licence rather than ordinary ownership, it is sensible to read the contract carefully and ask what the fee covers. Amenities and activities vary by community, so you can match a village to the way you like to spend your days.

Keyton is a foundation member of the Retirement Living Code of Conduct, the retirement living industry's own voluntary code setting standards for how operators treat residents. That shows Keyton committed to those standards from the start, and it gives you a reference point when you ask questions about how a village is run. Keyton is owned by global superannuation and pension funds Aware Super and APG.

Care & lifestyle services

Keyton villages are designed for independent living, so you can stay in your own home for longer. That matters if you want to keep your independence and routines for as long as you can. As your needs change, care providers that Keyton partners with deliver support to your door, including meals on wheels. An in-home emergency call system can also be set up through a partner provider, with availability varying by village.

Serviced apartments add daily meals, cleaning and a 24-hour emergency call to independent living, and they are available at some communities only. It is worth asking about serviced apartments at each community, and about what daily support looks like there.

Shared facilities may include swimming pools, hairdressing salons, bowling greens and bar areas, and a resident mini-bus is available at most villages. Some villages also add billiards rooms and business centres. The mix of facilities and social life varies by community, so visit in person where you can and see how the shared spaces are used.

What makes Keyton different

Keyton gives you real choice. More than 65 villages sit across urban, regional and coastal locations, so you can stay near family, friends and the area you know. All of it sits with one operator, so you can compare locations without starting again with a new provider. For many people downsizing, staying close to the people and places they know is as important as the home itself.

94% of residents feel safe, secure and well-supported in their village, based on a 2025 survey in which more than 7,100 residents took part.
