Hope@Hand - Cleaning and Gardening Services in Metropolitan Melbourne
It's the ultimate win-win. Hope@Hand allows people to enjoy assistance with cleaning, or managing their house and garden, while providing vital employment and skills training for asylum seekers and refugees.
Hope@Hand was established in 2016 as a social enterprise to support skill development among refugee communities. We aim to increase employment opportunities by training members of refugee communities in commercial or domestic cleaning and gardening.
For refugees trapped in long term unemployment, MiCare’s Hope@Hand initiative can be a life-changing discovery, providing accredited training, mentoring and hands-on practical experience through work placement activities.
Our program is very practical. Hope@Hand cleaners and gardeners are employed by MiCare to work in the homes of elders who are recipients of MiCare home care packages. They also work across commercial businesses and private homes as part of an ever-evolving business that can grow to provide quality services to more elders and customers at competitive prices, while building the work history and skills of the Hope@Hand workers.
For our elderly clients, it means cleaning and gardening becomes one less area of stress, allowing them to stay in their own homes and live independently for as long as possible. Hope@Hand services are available to those living in Metropolitan Melbourne.
