Keyton and its Kingfisher Grove retirement village builder Richard Crookes Constructions today ‘topped out’ the last two apartment buildings at Jordan Springs, bringing the project another milestone closer to the completion of 103 new independent living units.
“This is a major step for Keyton, bringing us closer to completing Kingfisher Grove at Jordan Springs offering the best of retirement living in Sydney’s burgeoning west,” Keyton CEO Nathan Cockerill said.
“‘Topping out’ is celebrated when the highest point in the construction of a new building is reached, and we have reached this milestone with Banksia and Coolabah buildings at Kingfisher Grove.
“It was great to have the teams from Keyton and from Richard Crookes Constructions together to mark the occasion with the traditional placing of a tree on the roof of the new buildings,” Mr Cockerill said.
“The 103 new apartments in these two new buildings will add to the currently occupied 36 apartments and 51 villas for a total of 190 homes once the whole project is complete.
“I am also pleased Keyton has finalised an agreement that will see Opal HealthCare purchase the designated adjoining aged care site and build and operate a residential aged care service co-located at Kingfisher Grove village,” Mr Cockerill said.
Keyton’s Head of Development, Jason Fitzgerald, is very pleased with progress of the build.
“Phased construction projects can be challenging but Kingfisher Grove is already a vibrant and bustling community with residents making the most of the new Clubhouse with its heated indoor pool, cinema, gym, bar, dining room, outdoor terrace and BBQ area.
“Richard Crookes Constructions has done a fantastic job here and have proven to be an excellent partner in the development with over 30 years’ experience working on retirement living projects,” Fitzgerald said.
Grant D’Arcy, Richard Crookes Constructions’ General Manager, Sydney and Major Projects, said: “Since 1976, we’ve completed more than 100 retirement living projects. This is a fantastic milestone for the overall Kingfisher Grove project - we’re proud to deliver infrastructure that responds to the evolving needs of our local communities.”
Finally, Mr Cockerill said interested buyers should be quick: “I can only urge seniors in western Sydney to come and take a look at Kingfisher Grove as soon as they can – our first release of apartments sold out in a week!”
