Albury-Wodonga’s newest over-50s community, Baranduda Lifestyle Estate, celebrated a milestone on the weekend with the official opening of its state-of-the-art Clubhouse.
It was a significant development for the lifestyle community on Ellen McDonald Drive in Baranduda, which is owned and managed by leading operator, Lincoln Place.
Lincoln Place Executive General Manager of Development Angus Johnson said following the completion of the estate’s first stage last year, the restoration of the former Trinity Anglican College hall would become the heart of the estate.
“This Clubhouse isn’t just any Clubhouse. It was once a school hall that has been thoughtfully reimagined through a $2 million restoration program into a welcoming space where residents can remain active, relax and socialise with their neighbours,” Mr Johnson said.
“The Lincoln Place team have carefully preserved the building’s original architectural details while introducing fresh, modern finishes, maintaining its character, including soaring vaulted ceilings and original feature windows that to allow sunlight to pour in, creating a bright and open feel.”
Mr Johnson said another highlight of the space was the kitchen and bar, which provides a touch of luxury with marble benchtops and gold accents - a perfect setting for happy hour or a relaxed catch-up with neighbours.
The residents’ lounge, with its cosy fireplace, sits at its heart, offering a comfortable retreat for reading, unwinding or enjoying good company.
The Clubhouse includes an indoor pool, bowls green, library, lounge and dining areas and theatre – part of Lincoln Place’s $2.8 million investment in community amenities.
Mr Johnson said construction has commenced on the latest release.
“The transformation of the 900sqm Clubhouse and construction commencing on our next stage shows our commitment to the Border region, not only in boosting housing supply, but also in local job creation,” he said.
“Engaging local trades in the delivery of new homes, and the clubhouse, is all about making a meaningful contribution to the region’s economy and this will continue as we launch and deliver future home releases.”
Baranduda is proving popular for downsizers and young families due to its tranquil, rural setting, growing economic development and proximity to Albury-Wodonga’s health, shopping and transport offerings.
Mr Johnson said over 50s lifestyle communities provide an opportunity for people to free up capital and downsize into a thoughtfully designed home with abundant lifestyle amenities. New homes within Baranduda Lifestyle Estate start from $420,000.
