Palm Lake Resort Paynesville unveiled its newest facility, the Latitude Country Club on Wednesday 14 May at the new over-50s resort in Ashley Street, Paynesville in Victoria. The resort is quickly gaining a reputation as a premiere lifestyle community for over-50s in the region, built by the family-owned Palm Lake Group who have built over 27 resorts along the East Coast of Australia over the past 48 years.
Over 500 guests attended the event to celebrate the resort’s exclusive $20 million Latitude Country Club - the community hub that will be surrounded by 195 homes when the resort is fully complete in the next 2 years.
The event had classic carnival entertainment including the East Gippsland Brass Band, roaming magician and a host of carnival-style food trucks, with movies also screening in the resort theatre throughout the day.
Officially opened by the Hon. John White, Mayor of East Gippsland Shire who said he was thrilled to see “the state-of-the-art facility built in East Gippsland region with a growing aging population, we’re just so thrilled you committed the development in the East Gippsland region”, said the Mayor.
“It’s the quality and the facilities, for anyone considering moving to the region, this could be your Shangri-la” he said.
Carnival games, spin the wheel prizes, enjoying free coffee and movies were popular activities on the day. Other activations on the day included lawn bowls to showcase the resort’s brand-new championship eight-rink undercover lawn bowls green, as well as paint and sip for the craftier and more creative.
“The opening of Latitude Country Club is a proud moment for our team. This facility reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence, community, and thoughtful design,” says Alysia Nechvoglod, general manager of sales and marketing at Palm Lake Resort.
“We have created something special at Palm Lake Resort Paynesville—where every detail serves a purpose, and every space invites connection. We look forward to welcoming the wider community to our resort to experience it firsthand.”
