Discovering the Territory
A spectacular and vast territory, home of deserted landscapes and pristine shores. A place where it’s easy to enjoy a healthy lifestyle during retirement, making the most of the outdoors, the warm weather and the slower pace. Where quality Asian cuisine meets ocean fresh catch.
The Northern Territory, aka NT, is an attractive location to retire to. It’s home of the beautiful Red Centre desert and the renowned sacred monolith of Uluru. You can discover Alice Springs, nested between impressive mountain ranges, and Darwin with its big harbour and rich cultural scene.
There’s also less traffic, welcoming people, good shops and markets, pure air, excellent fishing and quality healthcare services. The main health centre is the Royal Darwin Hospital, and there are smaller hospitals in all the major regional towns.
Every August the Northern Territory celebrates Seniors Month to encourage retirees and older citizens to connect with the community. There are courses, intergenerational activities to interact with youth groups, exhibitions, tours, workshops and many more.
